Thursday’s opening session:
THERE’S NO FUN IN FUNGIBLE: How to Develop the Defi nite Delivery of Distinctive Services in the Practice of Law
Michael Brandwein, lawyer, educator, author, speaker
There’s more to the successful practice of law than the quality of the legal product. The way that product is delivered is what builds our reputation as the "must have" lawyer or firm. Solo practitioners and small firms can easily compete with larger firms by focusing on not just substance, but process - developing strong relationships, trust, superb communication, and more. This acclaimed, practical session demonstrates exactly what to say and do to get this done and make your services stand out so that clients and potential clients see your distinctive value.
About the speaker: MICHAEL BRANDWEIN received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School and was a partner and trial lawyer in a Chicago firm. He is the author of three books on managing and training staff and leadership development and wrote and presented three Emmy® award-winning television shows on communication skills. In addition to his work for individual firms, he is one of the highest rated keynoters at many national conferences, including the ABA Bar Leadership Institute and Section Offi cers Conference, the Association of Legal Administrators, and many others. An expert in communication, team-building, and customer service, his corporate clients include many of the largest companies in the world. He was chosen by Successful Meetings magazine as one of the nation’s top speakers.
